Name: | Jin-Kyong Ahn |
---|---|
Birthdate: | Feb 21 |
Location: | (states/regions/territories) |
The Digidestined of North Korea. Well, one of them, anyway. After she and four other Digidestined were transported to the Digital World, fought an insane Lilithmon who tried to break their spirits and formed powerful bonds with each other, they returned to the Real World. Jin-Kyong emerged as the de facto leader of the group, being the closest thing to a goggle-head her team had.
Despite being a gogglegirl, her personality differs drastically from most of those who have held that title due to her upbringing. Because of the restrictive, dystopian regime she grew up under, Jin-Kyong is not a hothead. She is extremely polite, controlled, calm and a hard worker. This nature hides her private breakdowns from being in an awful country where death, secret police and fear surround her on all sides. When under great stress Jin-Kyong has a myriad range of coping mechanisms she slips into, including biting at her nails, standing and bouncing her body off a wall in a swaying motion repeatedly while hugging herself, and hiding under anything possible.
Her partner is an Araumon who goes by Kim Jae.
Having her digimon around has significantly reduced the number of these instances, but even without him, every time Jin-Kyung broke she would pull herself together and press on. She's got the Crest of Diligence for a reason; she does not back down, give up or ever quit trying. This is what led her to become the leader of her team. Despite their amazing virtuous qualities and good points, she was just more motivated than any of them, long after things were five shades past hopeless. Don't let the politeness fool you into thinking she's a weak, wilting flower. She isn't.
After they got out of the Digital World, all five North Korean Digidestined were instantly swept up into a government owned facility where they could be monitored and, more importantly, bribed extensively to try and buy their undying allegiance to their country. This is having limited success given they had plenty of time to be deprogrammed by the Digital World and the presence of genuine friends for once. That said, when Digimon burst out of the faulty, spotty internet and attack their country, they're there to help, always.
Jin-Kyung Ahn is an original character. Digimon belongs to Toei. Mun is 21, muse is 14.
